MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION
The appropriation in part I, chapter 181, laws of 1925, “For Expense of
Maintenance and Operation” is hereby made available for travel outside the
state and of the amount of $1,000 appropriated by such chapter, the sum
of $400 may be expended for a contribution toward the expenses of the na-
tional conference of Commissioners on Uniform States Laws.

For expenses of maintenance and operation of the Tax Department, exclusive of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, including the purchase or exchange of automobiles; refunds of taxes erroneously paid under article 12 of the tax law (tax on transfers of stock and other corporate certificates); refunds of fees erroneously paid for real estate agents' and real estate brokers' and billiard room licenses; for premiums on surety bonds of officials and employees and for expenses of officials and employees in traveling outside of the state, $435,000.”
