PREFACE.

SEVERAL spurious and mean editions of the already published Works which the following volumes contain, having been brought out at different places, some respectable booksellers, in conjunction with those whose property they originally were, wished to have a new edition published, under the review and correction of the author himself, with the addition of any other pieces, fit for publication, which he had not yet brought out.
