About the author (1995)

Robert Siegel is the author of nine books of poetry and fiction. His poetry includes The Waters Under the Earth, The Beasts & The Elders and In A Pig's Eye and has received prizes and awards from Poetry, Prairie Schooner, The Transatlantic Review, and America, and the National Endowment for the Arts, among others. Siegel's fiction includes the award-winning Whalesong trilogy, which has been translated into seven languages. He and his wife Ann, a photographer, live with their two cats near the coast of Maine.
